GotOne founder Luyen is smiling as he holds a big fish in one hand. Next to him is a phone screen showing the GotOne app’s main screen.

Developed by anglers, for anglers

GotOne is a mobile app designed to take your fishing to the next level.

Log your catches and use your data to catch more fish—all while supporting marine research.

Two speech bubbles are depicting an exchange between Luyen and a fellow angler. Luyen says “Of course you didn’t catch any fish! It’s the week before the full moon!” The angler says “What are you talking about, that’s the BEST time to catch fish!

It all began with a heated exchange about fishing...

...that inspired Luyen Chou, an obsessed saltwater fisherman and data analysis nerd, to create the GotOne app. While other apps burn spots, GotOne gives avid anglers real data they can actually use to catch more fish.

OUR MISSION

To empower anglers with the data they need to catch more fish and conserve our fisheries

Love the sport
Protect its future

GotOne was developed with support from the fisheries research community and the American Saltwater Guides Association. Every time you log a catch, you’re protecting and preserving the environment—and the sport you love—for generations to come.

Supporting Partners

On each episode of the Saltwater Edge Podcast, I ask some of the best surf, fly, and inshore anglers around to share two tips that make them successful. Far and away the most common response is to keep a log. With GotOne you can log way more details than you can possibly record accurately after the fact. That's a big deal.

As Chairman of the
American Saltwater Guides Association, I am excited to use GotOne to advance and leverage the data that will be collected by guides and recreational anglers to inform fisheries management decisions. The lack of this type of citizen science has been a gap in ASGA's advocacy efforts to create sustainable fisheries for guides, recreational anglers, and other fisheries-related business.
